Why Isn’t Your Home Selling? Read This Article To Find Out Why Your House Just Isn’t Quite Moving On The Market

Just because the market is doing well, doesn’t mean that you’re going to be able to sell your home. A lot of people like to use the excuse that “the market just isn’t what it used to be.” Unfortunately, this is usually something that a seller likes to use to rationalize why their home isn’t selling. It’s also an excuse that a bad realtor uses to explain to people why he’s not getting any good business. There will always be someone who doesn’t want to buy your house. If your house isn’t selling, you might need to start being realistic about why it isn’t selling. Here are some reasons.

Your pricing is insane. The main reason a house stays on the market is that the seller has priced it too high. Too many sellers price their home according to emotion, which is all wrong. They generally think that their homes are worth more than it is.

Your home needs lots, and lots of work. Of course, don’t go running out to renovate your kitchen. Sometimes all you need to do is add some fresh flowers outside, paint your porch, or re-paint the living room. This isn’t the time to embark on some crazy renovation project. Today’s buyers are extremely busy. They want houses where they don’t have to put in any work after they buy them. They want to be able to only have to unpack. Plus, if your home is a fixer-upper, you’re at a disadvantage in that lots of homebuyers today just simply don’t want to spend the time or money fixing up homes. That is an older gen
eration that are kind of dying out (no pun intended).

It’s also possible that your home just looks run-down. Is it dated? Do you have that pepto-bismal pink colored carpet, or flowered wallpaper in the bathrooms? Many buyers don’t want to deal with these things. Yes, they’re easily fixable but too many of these things, and then it does become a lot of work. One or two dated things might be okay. Any more than that, and buyers aren’t quite as forgiving. Buyers don’t want to see “you” in the house, they want to see them. You should decorate your home according to what is universally accepted. This includes neutral colors, furniture, walls, and accessories.

A big, big reason your home isn’t selling is that you aren’t making yourself available. Perhaps buyers have wanted to see your home, and you told your realtor that they couldn’t come by that night. And then next Saturday when they wanted to come, you were busy again. People who want to buy a house, want to buy a house right now. They aren’t going to wait for you.

Finally, another option is that you simply aren’t advertising your house correctly. Maybe your photos suck. Maybe you barely even have your home posted online, and if you do, maybe it’s not on the popular websites. Make sure you have amazing, high-quality photos. 1. Just to reiterate one of the points, you really must be flexible when you are selling your home. Buyers will start wondering how serious you are about selling it, and they’ll also be insulted in general that you aren’t respecting their time too. This Some people have a shorter fuse for disrespect than others, so just know that some buyers may walk because of this.
